Our Instructors

Head Instructor, Dan Holland

Dan Holland is the head instructor at HHA and created the company in 2013. Growing up, Dan played for the Boston Junior Eagles and for his Woburn town teams. In high school, Dan played four years at Woburn Memorial High School, where he won two middlesex league titles and made a super eight appearance. Dan was also rookie of the year his freshman year, middlesex league MVP his senior year, and made it into the 100-point club. After high school, Dan went on to play in the KIJHL for the Beaver Valley Nitehawks for two years. During Dan’s second season with the team, they went on to win the KIJHL championship, the Cyclone Taylor Cup, and the Keystone Cup. After his junior hockey career, Dan went on to play four years at Salem State University, where he majored in Business Management and added varsity tennis to his resume. Dan graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.6 GPA, as well as made the all-academic team all eight semesters. The Vikings won back to back MASCAC championships in 2016 and 2017. After his hockey career was over, Dan decided to run HHA full time and continues to do so. Along with running HHA, he was an assistant coach and recruiter at Belmont Hill with their varsity program from 2018- 2021. Currently he is assistant coach at Phillips Andover with the women’s varsity team.

Head Instructor, Nick Roberto

Nick, a native of Wakefield, MA, grew up skating for the Middlesex Islanders before matriculating on to Malden Catholic. While at Malden Catholic, Nick led the Lancers to the Massachusetts High School MIAA championship. Nick finished his remaining two years of high school at Kimball Union Academy, where he was a driving force behind a dominant Wildcats offense. Nick was named Tournament MVP after leading Kimball Union to the Flood Marr Championship. He scored the overtime winner goal in the New England Prep School Championship game his junior season and he was named Prep Player of the Year his senior year. After KUA, Nick went on to continue his hockey career and education at Boston University. During his freshman year, Nick scored the game winning goal at Madison Square Garden against Cornell to secure the first ever “Kelly-Harkness” Cup. During his time at BU, Roberto tailed 44 points in three seasons. He was also a member of the 2015 National Championship Runner-Up team, as well as winning the Hockey East league title (twice) and the Beanpot Tournament. After his college career, Nick went on to play professional hockey and signed with the South Carolina Sting Rays in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), where he played two years. While playing for South Carolina, Nick was an assistant captain, before getting traded to the Worcester Railers. Nick is currently the head instructor at HHA and coaches in the New England Fall Prep Hockey League. Nick is also an assistant coach at Suffolk University.

Mike Levine, Skills Instructor

Coach Levine has coached at almost every level of hockey. In 2005, he started out with New Hampton as the head coach for four years. In 2009, Mike went on to become an assistant coach at Utica College at the NCAA Division 3 Level. Two years later, he decided to go back to prep hockey to Kimball Union, where he became head coach. After another couple years in the USHS Prep league, coach Levine went on to coach at Brown University NCAA Division 1, where he was an assistant coach for three years. After coaching for ten plus years, Mike went on to secure a scouting position with the Vegas Golden Nights in the NHL, where he was currently the Director of Collegiate Scouting. Mike is currently the associate head coach with the men’s ice hockey team at Northeastern University. Along with working with Northeastern, Mike is also an instructor at HHA. Coach Levine focuses on player development and skills in small, semi-private groups.

 
 

Dominic Metro, Instructor

Dominic has been a student at HHA since 2015 and has been coaching with us since 2018. The Woburn native grew up playing for the Boston Advantage along his twin brother. He went to Arlington Catholic his freshman and sophomore year, where he was the starting defenseman and an impact player on the team. For his junior and senior years, Dominic transferred to HOOSAC School, where he graduated in the spring 2021. After Dominic finished his high school career, he joined the Valley Junior Warriors where he played two years. During his second year he was named team captain. Dominic currently works with a lot of our younger players in the early stages of their development.

 

Cailin Flynn, Instructor

 

Cailin has been a student at HHA for over four years. She is a rising junior and defenseman on the Varsity Hockey Team at Dexter Southfield. She was most recently named to the 2019-2020 New England Prep School All-NEPSAC First Team. Cailin played one year at Woburn Memorial High School and was a contributing member of the team, capturing the Middlesex League Title and the 2018 MA Division 1 State Championship. She was named to the Boston Herald All-Scholastic Team that year. Cailin has been selected and participated in the USA Hockey National Development Camps in MN for the past several years. She has also won 2 State Championships with her club hockey team. Cailin currently plays for the U19 Eagles Tier 1 team in the fall, and Dexter Southfield in the winter. She is also committed to Boston College, where she will be attending in 2022-2023.
